Our Client has ambitions to transform their hillside plot. The home is intended as a private family home which presents itself in very different characters, depending of where the view is taken: the long cross-country view presents a substantial 'arts and crafts' house nestled into the hillside whereas the country lane view is of a two-storey 'longhouse'.
In sharp contrast to both of these, the third view is preserved for the family and is only wholly viewed from within the grounds. Viewed from within the grounds, the informal family spaces from library to gamesroom cascade down into the privacy of the gardens, protected by substantial indigenous planting and a contemporary curved malmestone garden wall.
